Mills County already has several trails for different types of users. Check out the links below and come enjoy our trails!

Wabash Trace Nature Trail This former railroad runs across Mills County through Mineola, Silver City, Malvern, and Strahan. Its total length is 63 miles from Council Bluffs in the north to Blanchard on the Missouri border. The Wabash is mostly crushed limestone with some paved sections, and is open to bicycling, walking, and running/jogging. One of the most popular events in Southwest Iowa, the Taco Ride, takes place on the Wabash from Council Bluffs to Mineola, when the weather and trail allows.

Mills County Conservation – Several parks in the county offer hiking trails.

West Nishnabotna River – The West Nishnabotna River runs north to south in the eastern part of the county and is currently being studied for water trail designation in Mills County. Ramps will be added at Hutchings Avenue and Lambert Avenue in 2015, allowing canoe and kayak access.
